Production

Production of oil and gas is the core activity of Karakudukmunai TOO.

The Karakuduk field, developed by Karakudukmunai, is located 365 km northeast of the city of Aktau. Oil on it was first discovered by Soviet geologists in 1998. In 2003, the first million tons of oil was produced. In May 2010, the cumulative production amounted to 7 million tons of oil. With the advent of the oil company Lukoil, a new stage began in the development of Karakudukmunai. Achieving higher results required the introduction of advanced technologies in terms of IT support and infrastructure. P-Telecom has been a strategic partner in terms of implementation and maintenance of corporate project management systems, integrated management systems (ERP), automated control systems and process control systems, and the provision of IT services for all these years.

Our production and maintenance activities are carried out to meet strict safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Production phase aims to the recovery of the reservoir fluids to surface followed by their processing.

Our production and maintenance activities are carried out to meet strict safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Our professionals ensure the control of production and injection to meet up approved plans for volumes and quality of products. We also ensure the monitoring and recording of all data to manage the reservoir, wells and facilities.

The production phase normally begins with the first commercial volumes of hydrocarbons (“first oil”) flowing through the wellhead – this establishes a fundamental turning point from a cash flow stand point.

Liquid hydrocarbons represent approximately 80% of our overall production volumes. Karakudukmunai accounts for approximately 2% of global oil production.

We produce gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil, Bunker Fuel Oil D6, and asphalt for roads and lesser known products such as lubricants, synthetic rubber, plastics, and fertilizers.

Karakudukmunai consists of 14 production structural divisions, four of which are oil and gas production departments, oil treatment and production services department, as well as auxiliary departments that perform various services.

The Company is currently implementing a Production Modernization Program. Within the framework of the Program, a Workshop for Diagnostics and Repair of Underground Equipment (TsDRPO) was built and put into operation, the capacity of which allows repairing 500,000 tubing, 200,000 sucker rods, 11,000 deep pumps annually. It should be noted that this workshop has no analogues not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the CIS countries.
